RASMUS RASK AND HIS LINGUISTIC PARADIGM
Author/authors:
S.N. Kuznetsov
UDC: 81-119
Annotation: The article deals with linguistic views and scientific achievements (constituting together the linguistc paradigm) of the great Danish scholar Rasmus Rask (1787—1832). Rask is known as one of the founders of comparative linguistics, the author (or co-author) of a phonetic law (Rask’s law or Rask’s-Grimm’s rule). But Rask’s contribution to the development of general linguistics, metalinguistics, linguistic taxonomy, linguistic constructivism and interlinguistics has not been properly understood and remains so far unappreciated. Rask’s legacy conserves its scientific value at present
Keywords: general and comparative linguistics, interlinguistics, linguistic constructivism, linguistic taxonomy, metalinguistics, natural and artificial languages
