Annotation:		The article examines the place of the federal law on February 9, 2009 № 8-FZ «On ensuring access to information about the activities of state bodies and local self-government» in the federal information law. The author concludes that the law is blanket in nature and can not be regarded as an act of synthesis that defnes a common procedure for access to information about the activities of state bodies and local self-government.
